I have been having loads of fun with this free scratch plugin from Matias at Klanglabs. Hooked up to my Korg Kaoss pad is does a great job of emulating all the wikki-wikki goodness of a turntable! I made this little video to show just how easy it is to use. Not bad considering I’ve never done any scratching in my life!

EDIT: I use NicFit’s free MungRack plugin to translate the Kaoss midi controllers to ones compatable with Sxratch2. Here is the Mungrack preset I use to do it. Just insert Mungrack between the Kaoss Pad and Sxratch2 in your host.

Getting the KP2 and Sxratch to communicate takes a bit of setting up.
You need to convert some midi cc# in your host, like so:
Cc#95 value 0 needs to be turned into a Midi NOTE ON (any note will do)
Cc#95 value 127 needs to be turned into a Midi NOTE OFF (any note will do)
Cc#13 needs to be turned into cc#31
Most hosts should the ability to do this natively. I don’t have Live 5, so I can’t tell you how. You can also use a plugin such as NicFit’s MungRack to translate the necessary midi. I’ve included a link to it, and the preset that I use in the original post.

hey i downloaded the sxratch 2 for audobe audition and cant get it to work. ive loaded the vst into aa but cant get the actually scratching to work. i dont have a pad or nething just want to add a scratch to my ska. itll load but when i go to scratch nothing happens… ne suggestions, thanks
