Free patches – Dave Smith Evolver Sound Bank

I’ve spent about the last year putting this bank together. Not full time of course, I do have the other things to do occasionally, but this bank represents many late nights nonetheless.

127 brand new sounds for your Evolver (I left a default patch at the end). They mostly fall into the ‘dance’ category (electro, house, drum and bass, etc etc). Lots of big basses, leads, crazy fx and sequences. There are NO ‘sequencer’ patches (like some of the factory patches that just play sequenced loops regardless of any keyboard input) mainly because I find those kind of patches of limited use, so ALL of my patches are fully playable on the keyboard. Also make sure you try the mod wheel and aftertouch as I try and program something interesting for these 2 controllers in most patches.

It should go without saying that I think the Evolver is an amazing synth. Everyone should own at least the desktop model. The bang-for-the-buck factor is off the scale!

Anyway… without further ado, here it is. I hope you enjoy it.

  1. These are great patches! Beauty Chord and Pulsation are great. I found myself turning down the levels on many patched so that the total sum of the output never exceeds 120. When I did his, they all cleaned up (no clipping because the internal mixer can’t handle it).

  2. I forgot to mention that the levels I adjusted are the individual oscillator levels. The manual suggests this approach as well. None of the power of these patches is lost by doing this.

  3. Hi Rozzer! this Evo Patches are LaCreme for techno… Are soooo good and works perfect. i learn more and more things about my DSI Evolver Keyboard with this. love this patches so many Thanks!

  4. Hey thanks so much for these – they are great! I have one small question. The patches load to my evolver but when I switch to another bank and then switch back it seems that the patches are overwritten or altered. Any idea why this might be happening?

    1. Hi Owen,

I can’t think why that would be at all. You can switch presets within a bank ok, but when you switch to another bank the presets are gone? Does it revert to the factory presets? Sounds like something you might need to contact DSI about. Perhaps there is a backup battery which needs replacing. Sorry I can’t be more help.
